The Samsung Galaxy S23 line is a series of top-of-the-line Android smartphones. The devices offer all kinds of modern gadgets, have a faster Snapdragon processor than its competitors and a nice camera system. But there always remains something to be desired. And no, not just for the knee-jerks among us.
In the battle between Android and iOS, you hear a lot of arguments going back and forth. Mostly it’s about normal features; options that people actually use. You hear very few people about parts that are behind the scenes. Like the Seamless updates component, also known as A/B updates.

This Android option first appeared in 2016. The feature makes downloading and installing system updates much simpler. Without Seamless updates, everything has to be done step by step and you also have to wait for everything to be installed. You can’t use your phone then, when all this is taking place.

With that Android option on board, everything happens in the background and you can keep using your smartphone. All you have to do is restart it once, and that’s it. What does that have to do with the new Samsung Galaxy S23 series? Everything and nothing, at the same time. Because that option is not present on the system, unfortunately.
No, Android manufacturer won’t do anything with that this year either
That’s according to a test conducted by journalist Nicolas La Rocco. Why Samsung continues to choose this is not clear to us. There are few drawbacks to this update method. Yes, Android gobbles up more storage space, since it has to store updates – but that’s really a non-issue at this point.
During the press presentation of the Galaxy S23, Samsung was still so proud of the fact that its devices have such an incredible amount of storage. Granted, that’s because we collectively use more space. But even then, there should be enough space for a simple software update of a few gig.
