Do you have a Samsung phone? Then you’ll soon be able to use it to open your car, find your tickets and make payments even easier.
Many smartphone users can’t live without their Apple or Google Wallet. It is the ideal way to pay with your smartphone or open your car. Samsung is now joining that trend with its own Wallet.
The Samsung Wallet is coming to the Netherlands soon. In some ways, it works even better than the Google Wallet, so if you have an S24 or a Z Fold 6, for example, it’s an ideal time to switch.
This is the Samsung Wallet
From February 7, the Samsung Wallet will be available in the Benelux. That day was not chosen at random, because from that moment the Galaxy S25 will be delivered. Ideal, then, to introduce the new feature immediately on that and other smartphones.
The Samsung Wallet gives users instant access to tickets and ID cards, for example. Or what about making payments? That will save you quite a bit of time searching for the right card in your wallet.

Now you may be thinking: yes, but with my Google Wallet I can do exactly the same thing. Why should I switch? The Google Wallet, like the new Samsung Wallet, supports digital car keys. Still, with Google it can be quite difficult to add them, while with Samsung it is just a little easier. BMW, Polestar, Mini, Volvo, Audi, Kia and Hyundai support the technology, provided your car is actually compatible with it.
Safety
Another important issue is security. Of course, you don’t want your cards to just fall into someone else’s hands. Fortunately, with Samsung, those are well protected. For this, it uses Knox, the brand’s security platform. This includes fingerprint recognition and encryption of sensitive data.
One important detail is that you must have Samsung One UI 7 on your smartphone before you can use the new feature. That system is coming to the Samsung Galaxy S25 first, but should later become available on other Samsung smartphones, such as the S21 and the Z Flip 5.
