Sony announces new Android smartphone with unique camera

Sony has announced the new Xperia line. These include the new flagship the 1 VI and the midrange 10VI which of course run on Android.

Sony is releasing two remarkable new Android smartphones. The flagship, the Xperia 1 VI has a unique camera.

But in addition, it is also introducing a new midrange model. This model is remarkably light and easy to operate with one hand.

This is the Sony Xperia 1 VI

Let’s start with Sony’s flagship device. The most outstanding feature of the Sony Xperia 1 VI is its camera. It has a telephoto camera that can switch between focal lengths of 85 mm and 170 mm. This gives you 7.1x optical zoom. By comparison, the Samsung Galaxy S24 Ultra and Google Pixel 8 Pro offer up to 5x optical zoom. According to the company, the Xperia’s main camera can even compete with regular full-frame cameras.

In addition, the Sony Xperia 1 VI has a Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 under the hood. In addition, it features 12 GB of RAM and you can choose between 256 GB and 512 GB of storage. Moreover, it has a 5000 mAh battery that lasts up to two days on a full charge.

What can be called special these days is that this smartphone has a 3.5mm headphone jack, allowing you to listen to music at higher quality. In addition, it also has an OLED screen.

The Sony Xperia 1 VI is certainly not cheap: you will pay 1,399 euros for it. The device is available for pre-order and will be released in early June.

Is that 1,399 euros too pricey? Then you can also opt for the new 10 VI with a price tag of 399 euros. Unlike its more expensive brother, this smartphone runs on the SnapDragon 6 Gen 1, has 8 GB of RAM and 128 GB of internal storage. The latter, by the way, is expandable with an SD card.

The screen is a 6.1-inch OLED in a 21:9 ratio. This makes it easy to hold in the hand. The screen has a maximum refresh rate of 60 Hz. What is also immediately noticeable is the low weight of 164 grams.

Yet there are also similarities with the Sony Xperia 1 VI. For example, this device also has a 5000 mAh battery and a 3.5mm headphone jack. However, this smartphone cannot be charged wirelessly. The smartphone is available for pre-order now and will be released sometime in mid-June.
