We finally got a first look at the Xiaomi 12T and its big brother the pro. The latter is the Chinese brand’s new flagship. WANT editor Jeroen Kraak was at the launch of the new device and tells what has caught his eye so far.
Xiaomi is a huge tech giant in Asia. The company by now produces everything that has a plug. From an electric scooter to brand new smart TVs. Real impression it hopes to make with the brand’s new flagship; the Xiaomi 12T Pro.
The five special features of the Xiaomi 12 T Pro
WANT editor Jeroen Kraak traveled all the way to Munich for the new 12T Pro to put the device under the microscope. He lists five special points.
#1 What is 200 megapixels?
Of course, what immediately stands out about the Xiaomi 12T Pro is that it has a 200 megapixel camera. This one is made by Samsung. It also has a larger sensor than you are used to from most smartphone brands. This gives you sharper pictures.
Through Xiaomi’s AI, you can cut that 200 megapixel photo into multiple sharp photos. This allows you to create your own ideal photo. The regular 12T comes to 108 megapixels.

#2 12T and 12T Pro battery
The Xiaomi 12T and 12T Pro feature a 5,000 mAh battery. That gives you up to 13.5 hours of screen time, according to the Chinese manufacturer.
If the battery does run out, you can charge it to 100% within 19 minutes. We know that fast charging from the regular 12. Because the system recognizes the charging routine, it knows exactly how fast to charge it. If you do it while you sleep, for example, it happens more slowly. That, in turn, is good for the life of the battery.
#3 Screen
The screen of the Xiaomi 12T and 12T Pro is also the same. That is a 6.67-inch 1220p AMOLED. In total, it should display more than 68 billion color tones. The screen also has a variable refresh rate from 30Hz to 120Hz.
However, the 12T Pro has some additional features that make the picture better. Through Adaptive True Display and Adaptive HDR, those colors and refresh rates are adjusted to the right situation.

#4 Processor pimped
The processor is, of course, the heart of the device. The faster, the better the performance. Inside the Xiaomi 12T Pro is a Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1, which is the fastest chip (apart from Apple) currently available. Instead of the Snapdragon, the regular 12T has a MediaTek Dimensity 8100-Ultra under the hood, which is a bit slower.
#5 Price and availability of the Xiaomi 12T (Pro).
Of course, after all these features, you’re especially curious about the price. The Xiaomi 12T comes with 128GB of memory and costs 599 euros. Of course, the Xiaomi 12T Pro is a bit more expensive. You can get this one for 799 euros. By the way, this one has 256GB of storage.
There is also something to choose in terms of color. Both devices will be available in black, silver and blue starting Oct. 13.
