Although the iPhone 16 won’t be launched until the fall, there are already quite a few rumors circulating about Apple’s smartphone. One, however, keeps coming back quite often.
Let’s face it, in terms of appearance, the iPhone has barely changed in recent years. OK, there came a Dynamic Island and a USB-C port, but otherwise it was all more of the same.
The iPhone 16 is also likely to resemble the previous generations, though it makes another subtle change. One that makes your screen look just a little nicer again.
The recurring rumor about the iPhone 16
Why give a product a major overhaul if it’s already incredibly good? The iPhone still looks great after all these years and its performance has been to write home about time and time again. Still, it’s nice when things can get just a little bit better again.
With the iPhone 16, one rumor about this comes up very often: the screen bezels, or bezels. If you look at your iPhone’s screen now, you’ll see a slightly thicker black bezel, and Apple is all too eager to get rid of that.

According to Korea’s The Elec, Apple is working on thinner screen bezels. Especially those at the bottom should change. To do this, the makers of the OLED panels (Samsung, LG and BOE) need to make the circuitry under the bezel even thinner. This is a trickier process in terms of technology.
Currently, screen makers have not yet succeeded in this, but Samsung and LG are said to be close. It is possible that this could be possible with the iPhone 16.
A more impressive screen
Still, thinner screen bezels are already something Apple has been working on for a longer time. For example, there is a difference between the iPhone 15 and the Pro. While the regular version has a screen edge of 2.2 millimeters, the Pro has 1.5 millimeters.
That’s not the only rumor about the iPhone 16, by the way. It is possible that the Pro models will get larger screens than the regular version. They would be 6.3 inches and 6.9 inches instead of 6.1 inches and 6.7 inches.

That combined with thinner screen bezels could make the iPhone 16 Pro and Pro Max even more impressive. Though now it’s mostly a wait and see until September, since Apple never releases anything about the iPhones until the presentation.
