#2 Siri gets smarter
With the iOS 17.4 update, Siri suddenly became a lot more convenient. The digital assistant now reads out your messages in multiple languages, such as Spanish, German and even Portuguese. Perfect for multilingual users. In addition, Siri also lets you send messages more easily.
Also handy on the go
In addition to speaking in new languages, Siri can also read out messages in the Messages app. So you can look further ahead in CarPlay with Maps for better navigation.
#3 Podcast transcripts on your iPhone
Do you listen to a podcast and sometimes miss what’s being said? Apple Podcasts has a handy solution: transcripts. It lets you look up specific words in an episode and, by tapping on them, jump straight to that exact moment. That way you’ll never miss your favorite clip again.
#4 Renewed home screen
iOS 18 brought a fresh look to your iPhone’s home screen. App icons and widgets got a darker or tinted style, and you can now display apps larger according to your preference.

At the tail end of the year, the first Apple Intelligence features are available. These give you smart tools to rewrite texts, summarize notifications and even find specific photos by simply describing them. Many more AI features are coming to your iPhone in 2025.
