#1 Quick Settings open faster
You know the drill: swipe down twice from the top of your screen to get to your Quick Settings. But did you know you can do it faster? Swipe down with two fingers at a time, and you’re done. You’ll have instant access to your settings.
#2 App shortcuts on your home screen
This handy feature also saves you quite a bit of time. Hold down an app icon and shortcuts to specific functions of that app instantly appear. For example, you can quickly create a new appointment in Google Calendar or instantly navigate to your favorite location in Google Maps.

#3 Theft protection: improve your Android security
If your phone is stolen, you don’t want anyone to get their hands on your data. Fortunately, you can use Lock on Theft Detection to automatically lock your device if it is snatched.
You can also lock your phone remotely with Device Lock. These features work on devices with Android 10 or higher, so check your Android version to see if you can enable them.
#4 App archiving: saving space
App archiving allows you to simply “store” apps that you don’t use often but don’t want to delete. The app is compressed, so you save space without deleting it completely.
You can easily find the option in your settings. Go to: Settings > Apps >[de app die je uitkiest] > Archive.
#5 Look closely at your app permissions.
Apps can only access your data if you give them permission. It’s smart to check your permissions from time to time, especially with the new options in Android. For example, you can limit access to your location to when apps are actually in use or give temporary permissions.
Go to Security & Privacy > Permissions Management. Then choose an authorization and modify the apps that have access to it.
#6 Google Play Protect for your Android apps.
Another important security measure is Google Play Protect. This built-in security constantly scans your Android apps for suspicious activity and alerts you if something is wrong.
Play Protect should be enabled by default, but it’s always good to double-check. Open the Google Play app and go to Play Protect Settings. Then turn on Scan Apps with Play Protect.
