As a Samsung user, you can take care of your battery a lot better than you may be doing right now. And you can get it done in just four clicks.
Many of the latest Samsung devices get seven years of operating system and security updates. That means your phone will stay secure and get new software for years. But there’s one problem: Your battery probably won’t last that long.
Fortunately, there is a simple trick you can use to slow down this process. That way you can enjoy your smartphone and new updates longer. We’ll explain it for you.
Take better care of your Samsung battery with this trick
To extend the life of your battery, it’s smart not to charge your phone to 100 percent. But why is this useful? Charging your phone from completely empty to completely full is quite hard on the battery. Therefore, many experts recommend not charging your phone above 80 to 90 percent.
Let’s face it: even if you do your best, chances are your battery won’t last seven years without you noticing its deterioration. But by being smart about charging, you may still be able to get a few extra years out of it. The smartest thing, of course, is to have your battery replaced after a few years.

You can keep an eye on how much percent your Samsung battery has left, but by adjusting one simple setting, you can let your phone take care of this automatically. First, go to Settings and choose Battery. Then tap Battery Protection and set the limit to Maximum.
With this setting, your Samsung device automatically stops charging once it reaches 80 percent. This way you don’t have to keep an eye on how far your battery is charged by yourself. This makes it a lot easier to extend the battery life of your Android smartphone.
