The time has come: Android 13 is officially a reality. The operating system for smartphones was rolled out overnight for Google’s own Pixel series. Although, as a consumer, you have to be very sure of your decision.
Anyone who has a Google Pixel 6, 6 Pro or 6A in their home should really think hard about whether Android 13 is the operating system they want. Indeed, according to Google’s developer website, there is no way back to the previous system.
Android 13 is a keeper
“Warning: the Android 13 update includes a bootloader update that strengthens the anti-roll back version. After installing Android 13 on the Google Pixel 6, 6 Pro and 6A, it is not possible to revert back to Android 12.” That’s the message Google, on its own website, is sharing with developers.
People who regularly test the betas of Android are also best off getting out at this time. Through Google’s website, you can unroll your smartphone, as it is nicely called. This way, updates are no longer automatically applied to your test devices.

After Google, Samsung and OnePlus too
Android 13 is officially a reality, that is. As we are used to, it is mainly interesting for people with the latest Pixel smartphones. In the Netherlands, there will not be many people who can get started with the new operating system. Fortunately, there is good news: there is already an expectation for when other manufacturers will offer the software.
Consumers with a smartphone from Samsung or OnePlus will still get their hands on it in 2022. An exact date has not been announced, but it is smart to take into account the last months of the year. Chances of getting the update from October through December are pretty high.

New additions in Android 13
In the near future, we at WANT will be exploring the new operating system. We’d love to tell you exactly what the new software has to offer you. Although, of course, some things are already known. For example, we know that it will be easier to share photos with friends and family. In addition, it will be possible to put two songs on one smartphone and you will get access to a load of new emoji.
By the way, did you know that Android 13 also has a secret functionality? We’ll tell you all about it in the article below!
