Battery life is one of the most important requirements for people to buy a new smartphone. An Android maker is working on smartphone with extreme battery life.
Many Android smartphones in practice easily last a day when fully charged, yet sometimes it can really be too short. You don’t want to charge every day, or you use a lot of energy-guzzling apps. Fortunately, an Android maker now offers the solution.
Realme comes with a huge battery in its new smartphone. Will it become the new standard for Android?
Realme makes an Android smartphone with huge battery life
The Realme GT8 Pro should set a new standard in battery capacity. The Chinese brand is currently testing three different batteries that can go into their new flagship.
First up is a 7000 mAh battery that can be charged at 120W. This should charge a battery from 0 to 100 percent in 42 minutes. In addition, it is also testing one of 8000 mAh with 80W fast charging. This one is full in 70 minutes. It is also working on an intermediate size of 7500 mAh with 100W fast charging, reports Chinese Digital Chat Station.

Interestingly, Chinese brands in particular are betting heavily on battery life. They are leading the way when it comes to capacity. For example, the Xiaomi 15 Pro is said to even go to a 6100 mAh battery and the Realme GT7 Pro has a 6500 mAh battery. Other Android makers such as Google and Samsung have to make do with less. The iPhone is also down a notch. There, the battery of the 16 Pro Max sits at about 4658 mAh.
Still, battery doesn’t say it all; efficiency is just as important. If that’s not optimized, you’ll do a lot less with your smartphone. Among other things, that has to do with the operating software and also the other hardware in the smartphone. Think about a strong chipset and managing heat well.
New technology from China
Chinese brands in particular are making leaps and bounds with their batteries because they have developed a new technology. They are making batteries with silicon-carbon. These, like current batteries, have lithium cells, but in addition a silicon carbide anode has been added.
As a result, the batteries have a greater density. Thus, more cells can be added on the same surface area. In addition, they have higher resilience against more extreme temperatures and the weight does not seem to increase either.

Here’s what we know about the Realme GT8 Pro
It’s going to be a while before we can expect the Realme GT8 Pro. The GT7 Pro was released last month. So not much can be said about other specifications yet. Because it’s so early in the process, some things may change as well.
The GT7 Pro has notable specifications. For example, as mentioned earlier, it has a 6,500 mAh battery. It also manages to achieve a peak brightness of 6,000 nits. So by now you can use it as a tanning bed.
Additionally, the smartphone runs on the Snapdragon 8 Elite chipset. The smartphone has not yet been launched in the Netherlands, although it is already on sale here via gray sales. However, you will pay 899 euros for it, while it was launched in India for converted 465 euros. So if you want the smartphone, it’s a good idea to wait a little longer.
