The iPhone today is almost as malleable as clay. You can customize virtually everything from the case and your home screen to the apps, making your phone feel truly yours. Even in ways you don’t see at first glance.
Maybe you already have your phone set up, but notice the battery draining faster than you want, or you want to save some extra time by setting up handy tricks. We’ll get you started with some tips.
These iPhone tips are essential for your device
With a few small tweaks, your iPhone will be much better. Here come our tips.
#1 Prevent iPhone apps from tracking your location
Apps like Instagram or Facebook really don’t need to know exactly where you are. Go to Settings > Privacy & Security > Location Features, choose the app and turn off the switch. Handy for your privacy and battery.
#2 Live voicemail for real-time transcriptions
Long-winded voicemails never have to be listened to again thanks to your iPhone. With iOS 17, you can now read voicemail in real time. Go to Settings > Phone > Live Voicemail to enable it.
#3 Turn off 5G on your iPhone for longer battery life
If you don’t always need the fastest Internet connection, you can turn off 5G to save battery life. Go to Settings > Mobile data > Mobile network options. Turn off 5G and you’ll have more battery left over for the rest of the day.

Make your iPhone truly personal with a live wallpaper. Go to Settings > Wallpaper and choose a new wallpaper. Be sure to turn on the Dark Mode Dim Background option for a perfect transition between day and night.
#6 Change Siri’s voice
Have you always wanted a different voice for Siri? You can now choose from a variety of voices. You have a choice of male, female and even a gender-neutral option. Go to Settings > Siri & Search > Siri Voice to set the voice of your choice.
#7 Turn off auto brightness for longer battery life
Your iPhone automatically controls your screen brightness based on ambient light. Want to stay in control and save battery? Turn off Auto Brightness through Settings > Accessibility > Display & Text Size.

#8 Fixing errors quickly
This is a handy trick for quickly correcting typos from typos or deleting large chunks of text on your iPhone. Instead of tapping the backspace button, you can simply shake your iPhone to erase what you typed.
#9 Easily perform a hard reset
If your device stops responding, your best bet is to perform a hard reset. For an iPhone X or newer, you do this by quickly pressing both volume buttons. Then press and hold the side button until your smartphone turns off completely. Your device will now perform a reset and then reboot again.
#10 Prevent distractions from your iPhone
Do you really want to become an iPhone expert? Then this tip is essential: take advantage of Apple’s Focus Mode. It’s not a hidden feature, yet many people still don’t utilize it to its full potential.
Focus mode lets you control which notifications and apps you want to receive at certain times. That way you can concentrate undisturbed when you need to, and relax undisturbed when you want to.
