iOS 19 is due out in September, and you can expect a lot from it. Your iPhone will get a completely new look.
Last week was all about Apple’s new hardware. It released a new MacBook Air, iPad, iPad Air, Mac Studio and, last but not least, the iPhone 16e. Now the focus can return fully to the future, and in particular iOS 19.
Although iOS 19 will not be released until September, we can already get a first glimpse at WWDC 2025. Apple’s developer conference will be held this June. There, the company will immediately present its new operating systems.
iOS 19 makes your iPhone feel different
Apple has made quite a few changes to iOS 18 over the past year, bringing new AI functionality to the iPhone and giving the operating system more personalization options. Users can now place icons anywhere on the screen and even have them change color.
According to reliable Bloomberg journalist Mark Gurman, iOS 19 brings quite a few additional options to your iPhone. These include the ability to customize the appearance of icons, menus, apps, windows and system buttons. According to him, this is the biggest visual change since iOS 7.

Apple wants to make operating systems more similar
The big goal is to make Apple’s various operating systems more similar. There needs to be more cohesion between the iPhone, iPad, Mac and Vision Pro. Currently, these devices all work slightly differently, but Apple wants to make that process more streamlined. As a result, the new designs are going to look more like VisionOS, the Vision Pro’s operating system.
That’s convenient for Apple, because not everything is going according to plan. Last week, for example, it became clear that the company is still struggling to integrate AI properly. For example, an AI version of Siri was expected in iOS 18.4, but that update appears to be delayed, and iPhone users may even have to wait until 2027 or longer before that feature becomes available.
