Five things we already know about the brand new iPhone

It won’t have escaped your notice: the new iPhone 14 is just around the corner. Typically, Apple introduces its new smartphones in September: the month that is three weeks away. What do we already know about the smartphones? Mark explains in this article.

Rumors, they abound when it comes to the iPhone 14. Less than a day after the current devices appeared on the market, information began to flow liberally. Whereas at the time it was quite global and unreliable, there are now reports that are a lot closer to the truth. As far as I’m concerned, this is an ideal time to tell you a bit about the devices.

By the way, don’t forget the following with a grain of salt to take. The information has not been officially confirmed at this time.

#1 This is how much the iPhone 14 costs

The most important part of the iPhone is usually the price. Will the new smartphones be more expensive, cheaper or will you, as a consumer, continue to pay the same? A fresh rumor shines light on that issue.

The information comes from a Korean blogger on the forum Naver. The message states that the price of the iPhone 14 in the United States is $799. That may not say much for the Dutch consumer at first glance, but it gives more price than you would expect. This is exactly the same price that is currently charged for the iPhone 13.

So anyone who wants to get their hands on the entry-level iPhone 14 this year will reportedly have to pay another 909 euros.

#2 Apple keeps new chip for the Pro

Since the launch of the first iPhone in 2007, one thing has always remained the same: an improved chip in a new model. Apple is changing that in 2022, by the way, according to Bloomberg journalist Mark Gurman. The iPhone 14 and 14 Max this year will have the same A15 Bionic chip as the current models. So in that respect, no step forward.

That’s not to say, by the way, that no A16 Bionic chip will be produced. However, it will only be available in the iPhone 14 Pro and Pro Max. Something to do with the arrival of a 48-megapixel camera that can put the extra processing power to good use.

By the way, you don’t have to assume that the new iPhone 14 and 14 Max won’t improve in terms of processing power. The two devices, despite using the same chip, will simply be able to count on an upgrade. How exactly Apple will do that we will find out in September.

Twitter won’t load because you didn’t give permission.

#3 No mini for the iPhone 14

Since 2020, consumers also have the option of purchasing a mini-iPhone. Under the matching name of mini, the compact smartphone returned, without compromising too much on power and quality. While the first model still had to make do with a limited battery, the 2021 model is already a lot better.

Still, given the disappointing sales figures, Apple does not seem to be continuing with the model. Fortunately, the company does come up with an alternative. In addition to the regular iPhone 14, a Max model will also appear on the market. Exactly the same size as the Pro Max, but with the same specifications as the entry-level model. Will the large smartphone catch on better than the small one?

#4 The end of the big notch

Speaking of the end, the iPhone 14 Pro and Pro Max are finally saying goodbye to the big notch. You know: that big dark landing strip that has been on Apple’s smartphones since 2017. Whereas last year it got a little smaller, this year Apple is taking a completely different approach.

As is the case with, by now all, Android smartphones, the iPhone will also sport a hole-punch notch. Although it looks different. In fact, the smartphone features a kind of pill-shaped notch, where both the selfie camera and the technology for Face ID are located.

If you read carefully, you will see that the improvement only comes to the Pro models. After all, it’s still Apple, right?

#5 When will the iPhone 14 be released?

The most important question, of course, is when exactly the iPhone 14 will see the light of day. An official date is not yet known, but given the normal course of events, we already have a strong suspicion.

Normally Apple announces the new iPhone on the second Tuesday of September. Unless it’s September 11, then they don’t do it. Anyway, that’s not an issue this year. If Apple sticks to its regular schedule, September 13 will be the date we get to see the smartphones. From then on we will also know for sure when exactly the new model will appear.
