Huawei is opening the attack on Samsung’s foldable phones. It now presents the Huawei Mate XS 2.
Perhaps you’ve forgotten about Huawei a bit because of the brand’s American boycott. As a result, for example, you do not have access to the Play Store, but you can still download the apps through a detour. The Chinese brand is not giving up and, however, is showing that it is alive and well. It is coming out with a new foldable device: the Mate XS 2.
Huawei goes to battle with Apple and Samsung
Huawei calls the Mate XS 2 the lightest ever. The foldable device is only 255 grams. That low weight certainly doesn’t mean you have to miss out on a lot of features. On the contrary, it is a true flagship. The Chinese brand is therefore all too keen to show us the differences from the competition. For example, the screen gives less reflection than the iPhone 13 Pro Max and the Galaxy Z Fold 3. And although the phone is slightly smaller than the Pro Max when folded, it does have more screen in percentage terms.
When unfolded, the Huawei Mate XS is truly a beast. At 7.8 inches, the screen is 0.2 inches larger than the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 3.
Here’s what you can expect
All right, enough comparing it to the competition. Naturally, you’re curious what other specs the Huawei Mate XS 2 has to offer. The screen has a refresh rate of 120Hz and a Touch Sampling Rate of 240Hz. The 1.07 billion colors should ensure that your photos and videos on the device look fantastic. The pixel density of 424 ppi and the anti-reflex layer literally complete the picture.
Underneath the screen, Huawei also promises great things. For example, the model has 8GB of ram and 512 GB of storage. The engine of the device is the fast Snapdragon 888 chip. So you can get rid of your fantastic photos quickly.
Those are great specs, of course, but you already suspect it: it’s going to cost you. You’ll be out about 1,999 euros.
