Samsung Galaxy S22 officially arrives but theres also bad news

Will the Samsung Galaxy S22 end the great Android frustration?

The Samsung Galaxy S22 series is going to end one of the biggest problems and frustrations Android users face. The crappy update policy seems to finally be getting the right upgrade.

Samsung is already doing better than the competition with its updates, but is going to add to that with the arrival of the Galaxy S22. The South Korean company is providing updates to its new flagship series for five years. And that is certainly not the only good news.

Samsung Galaxy S22 fixes Android problem

While Android smartphones have an incredible amount to offer, and are impressively good, they continue to suffer from a major problem. Most devices often fail to receive new updates after only two or three years, and then receive security updates for only a year. In this regard, Apple is significantly ahead with the iPhone. Last year, a 2013 iPhone received a security update and the 2015 iPhone 6 received the latest operating system. So the Samsung Galaxy S22 will have to step up considerably to keep up.

It won’t quite succeed, but the first big step has been taken. The Samsung Galaxy S22 series will go through four generations of Android and get five years of security updates. This is made clear by tweets on the account of reliable source Ev Leaks. The leaker has managed to get his hands on a press release that comes from Samsung itself.

Should this actually be the case, the Samsung Galaxy S22 series will still make it through Android 16 and security updates will be rolled out until 2027. Ideal, if you ask us.

These smartphones also feature

Of course, we have to take the information with a grain of salt, given that it comes from unofficial channels. However, given the source’s reputation, it is likely that it has the right end of the stick. On that note, there’s even more to be excited about, as the new scheme isn’t just limited to the Samsung Galaxy S22, as Galaxy S21 series, Galaxy Z Fold 3, Galaxy Z Flip 3 and Galaxy Tabs S8 are also provided.

The latter tablet has also not yet officially seen the light of day. Unofficially, we already know what the product has to offer. Want to know more? Check out the link!
