Having trouble choosing between a watch and a ring? Casio brings the two together in a bizarre new gadget.
A watch is a wonderful piece of jewelry to wear. You can choose between a traditional timepiece or a smartwatch like the Samsung Galaxy Watch or the Apple Watch. But what if you find that way too big and prefer to wear a ring? Casio has the solution.
Again, the choice is between a traditional piece of jewelry or a smart ring, such as the one from Samsung or Oura. However, an option is now being added to that, as soon you will also be able to wear a watch on your finger.
Casio releases a watch for your finger
Casio is one of the best known brands of watches. The beauty of the Japanese company is that they have models in all kinds of price ranges. For example, you have them ranging from a few tens to in the thousands of dollars. Although they often have a screen, however, they are not as smart as smartwatches like those from Apple and Samsung.
In the ring market, on the contrary, we haven’t seen the brand at all, but that’s about to change. No, it is not a smart ring as you might think, yet in some ways it is smarter than a normal ring.

Casio is actually coming out with a watch that you can wear on your finger. So you can keep track of time on this timepiece. However, the big question is whether you can call it a watch or a ring.
This is the Ring Watch
Casio then quite appropriately calls it the Ring Watch. The brand is releasing the gadget specifically to celebrate the brand’s 50th anniversary. Besides being able to watch the time on it, it also has a stopwatch function, you can set an alarm clock and you can see the date on the screen.
On a full battery, Casio’s Ring Watch lasts two years. Unlike normal smart rings or smartwatches, the battery is simply replaceable. Other than that, it has no special smart features.
The watch for around your finger is also water-repellent, so you can use it in the rain just fine. The price, like the Ring Watch, is quite small. You pay $120 for this one.
