Elon Musk is leaving Twitter: who will succeed him?

It’s nothing to laugh about by now: Elon Musk is stepping down as CEO of Twitter. But will Musk really do that after investing billions? We have our doubts. After all, Musk is quite an *sshole, agrees OMT editor Dennis Mons.

Elon Musk is one of the richest people in the world. As such, he has created brilliant companies. But his scope is starting to get pretty challenging now. He holds strings at SpaceX, rules the electric car industry AND runs a social platform. Slightly problematic.

Stop Elon Musk and his Twitter

Elon Musk has said he will relinquish his position as CEO of Twitter as soon as he finds someone “stupid enough to accept the job.” What a charming individual.

That dick-the-hanger even had a Twitter poll where 57.5% of users voted “yes” on the proposal that he resign his post. He says he will continue to lead the software and server teams after his successor is found. Will he step down then, too? The chances are slim. On the other hand: he probably wants another toy.

Too many billions

Obviously, people like this with too much money should be stopped. But who will succeed this South African turd? Some speculate that Twitter founder Jack Dorsey could return to lead the company. He stepped down as CEO in November 2021. Jack is a good person to lead Twitter again, though.

Other named possible successors include Sheryl Sandberg, the former COO of Facebook, Sriram Krishnan, an engineer and confidant of Musk, and Jared Kushner, the former adviser to the U.S. president and son-in-law of Donald Trump.

Stocks and investments

Twitter shareholders were quite panicked. Musk’s takeover was somewhat aggressive. They had a choice: sell all your shares at a greatly reduced price, or stick around for the shit show.

People stuck around and the result is actually a shit show. So who will run Twitter now is a total mystery, which is worrisome because it is one of the most important information platforms in the world.
