Since Elon Musk took the reins of X, there are a lot fewer rules on the platform. Yet Musk now thinks there is too much negativity circulating on the platform.
X we used to know as Twitter. Musk bought the platform and then renamed it. After a name change, he made more changes. For example, he fired many moderators on the platform, and rules about what is and is not allowed were relaxed considerably.
But Musk now thinks there are too many negative posts being pumped around on X. He shares that that content is causing people to spend more time on the platform. But it would not improve people’s appreciation for the time they spend on the social medium. Therefore, Musk wants to see more informative and entertaining content.
Musk wants more entertaining content
“Algorithm adjustment is coming to promote more informative/entertaining content,” he himself wrote in a post on X. “Our goal is to maximize unrequired user seconds. Too much negativity is being pushed that technically increases user time, but not unrequired user time,” the X boss said.
Musk does not share what he means by negative content. Very neutral the billionaire has not been of late. For example, he became perhaps one of the main backers of incoming US President Donald Trump, and wrote an opinion piece stating that the AfD is the only good option in the upcoming elections in Germany.
Twitter is not loading because you did not give permission.
Algorithm tweak coming soon to promote more informational/entertaining content. We will publish the changes to @XEng.
Our goal is to maximize unregretted user-seconds. Too much negativity is being pushed that technically grows user time, but not unregretted user time.

Still waiting to see what change will mean
So it remains to be seen what we can expect from the change on X. Since Musk took over the social medium, there has also been a lot of criticism of it. For example, many people have left the platform because they are bothered by what they see as a negative sentiment. Others, including Musk, actually think it is important to have an almost limitless form of freedom of speech.
Elon Musk is the richest man in the world, owning Tesla and space company SpaceX in addition to X. Furthermore, he also owns AI company xAI. with which he developed chatbot Grok. That bot has to compete with chatbots ChatGPT from OpenAI and Gemini from Google.
