These car brands have electric bikes
Why only make cars when you can also challenge yourself with electric bikes? So thought the brands below. These well-known car brands dove into the world of e-bikes.
#1 Ford
A few weeks ago, it was announced that Ford has launched electric bikes inspired by their iconic models: the Mustang and the Bronco. Ford partnered with e-bike maker N+ to do this.
The Bronco e-bike is designed for off-road use, with fat tires, a powerful 750W motor, dual suspension and a range of about 100 kilometers. The Mustang e-bike offers similar performance but with a sportier look and slick tires.
At present, the e-bikes are only available from U.S. Ford dealers; there are no plans to bring them to Europe yet.

#2 McLaren’s electric bikes
You know McLaren mainly from powerful and sporty cars. But when it comes to electric bikes, the company can also do a whole lot. McLaren is coming out with the Extreme and Sport e-bikes, designed by the same team that makes their electric supercars.
McLaren’s new e-bikes are designed with a carbon fiber frame for maximum lightness and speed, similar to their cars. They are available in two motor options: 250W and 600W. The electric bikes have a digital screen in the handlebars, similar to the display of a McLaren car, where you can read speed, battery status and distance.
The e-bikes are quite pricey. The Sport 250 costs 8,400 euros and the Extreme 250 is 11,150 euros. The 600W versions are only available in the US and cost between $8,950 and $11,950.

#3 Skoda
Before Skoda became the Skoda we all know, it was a bicycle and motorcycle manufacturer. The company then had the name Laurin & Klement. In 2019, Skoda returned to its roots to develop a modern Klement bicycle.
The electric bike has a 4 kW rear hub motor and a top speed of 45 kilometers per hour. In addition, the Klement features an aluminum frame, a single-sided swingarm and fixed pedals. As a result, the e-bike can reach the same speeds as a moped.
Additional features such as LED headlights, a smartphone holder and super-fast contact with emergency services, are typical Skoda. Unfortunately, this e-bike is not on the market yet. But we can’t wait!

#4 Peugeot’s electric bicycle
Peugeot now has several electric bikes on the market that vary in quality. But as far as we are concerned, the eC01 is really worth a try. Equipped with a Bosch Performance CX motor, with a 500Wh Powertube battery, the Peugeot eC01 is almost as powerful as a car.
The electric bike boasts a range of nearly 120 kilometers and can tackle both urban and rural areas. The 57 mm tires reportedly stay clear of pavement, potholes and gravel. They are equipped to last an entire year.

#5 Volkswagen
Volkswagen is a major player in the world of e-bikes. In 2019, it introduced the Cargo e-Bike, equipped with a 250W electric motor and a 500Wh battery powering the front wheel.
This electric bike has a large bin on the front for carrying goods and can travel up to 99 kilometers on a full battery. However, the large bin limits the maximum speed to less than 25 kilometers per hour.

#6 Rimac
Rimac is famous for producing the lightning-fast Rimac Nevera, one of the fastest electric cars in the world. Greyp, Rimac’s sister brand, focuses on electric two-wheelers and uses Rimac’s electronic systems in their Greyp G6.
This electric mountain bike is perfect for avid mountain bikers and comes with an app that lets you track your ride, take photos and track the location of your bike. The latter is handy, considering the price starts at 4,500 euros.
