During IFA 2024, halls are full of all kinds of gadgets, but which five really make the most impression? Samsung, LG and DJI, among others, come by.
During IFA, manufacturers from all over the world gather in Berlin to showcase their latest technological devices. There are big players like Samsung and LG, but also many Chinese companies you may have never heard of.
Despite the huge selection, in recent years it has been somewhat disappointing to find real gems. On the show floor, you mostly stumble across cooking shows, washing machines and lots of phone cases. Still, there are definitely some gems to discover if you look carefully.
Samsung, TCL, LG and DJI at IFA 2024
We’ve listed the five coolest ones. From a cute robot to a miniscule drone at IFA 2024.
Samsung Ballie
We’ve seen Samsung Ballie a few times before, but in the latest demo, this robot manages to impress again. It’s basically a kind of Smart Home assistant and projector in one. Not only can you have conversations with it and it drives throughout your home, but thanks to AI it can also give you the latest information and answer questions.

In addition, a projector is built in. So you can watch your favorite series on a big screen and ask it to show your calendar. It may not be a gadget you necessarily need, but it’s still secretly pretty cool to have in the house.
LG Self Driving AI Home Hub
Don’t let the boring name fool you, because LG’s marketing department has some work to do. This cute little robot shows that a Smart Home hub doesn’t have to be boring. This hub has wheels and a cute face.
Besides controlling your lights, he can do much more thanks to AI. For example, it can tell your children stories based on a drawing. This makes it a formidable competitor to the Samsung Ballie.
TCL 50 Pro Nxtpaper 5G
Anyone who thinks that a $299 smartphone cannot be attractive has not yet seen the TCL 50 Pro Nxtpaper. This is mainly because of the slider on the side. If you slide it, you switch between an e-reader and a normal smartphone screen.

The special matte screen makes sure your eyes get more rest. Especially if you’re an avid book reader and don’t feel like bringing a separate e-reader, this smartphone from TCL is your perfect companion.
Samsung 3D Game Monitor
Although it was already on display at Gamescom, we were now able to see for ourselves the new Samsung 3D Game Monitor in action. The idea is that you can game in 3D without wearing special glasses or headsets. And although you can’t see the 3D effect in photos or videos, it looks great in real life.
You really do get a 3D experience, but there is still room for improvement. The eye tracking could be a bit better, because although it should follow you as you move, it’s still a bit stiff. Still, the device exudes a lot of potential. We can’t wait for it to go on sale.
DJI Neo
Finally, a gadget that, like the Samsung 3D monitor, we also saw before: the DJI Neo. In fact, this one surfaced on the Internet even before its launch. What is so special about this drone is that it is incredibly small. It weighs only 135 grams.
But despite that low weight, it has a battery that can keep the drone in the air for 18 minutes. Moreover, there is room for a camera that can film in 4K at 30 fps.
