Gazelle is launching a new electric bike that is ideal if you have children. It comes with the Cabby.
You have electric bikes of all shapes and sizes. There’s the electric cargo bike, mountain bike and the regular city bike. If you have children or regularly transport somewhat larger loads, Gazelle has the solution.
It markets the Gazelle Cabby. And the model lives up to that name. It is a so-called longtail cargo bike, or e-bike with a longer carrier. This makes it ideal if you have children.
This is Gazelle’s new electric bike
The carrier of the Gazelle Cabby is so long that you can easily fit two child seats on it. This makes it an ideal alternative to the traditional cargo bike. You can also easily put your groceries on this electric bike after a day of shopping.
In addition, this electric bike has a special carrier on the front. On this you can easily put a crate. So you can first go to the supermarket and then pick up your children from school. You don’t have to worry, because the coat guard at the back also protects the children’s feet.
The striking thing about Gazelle’s design is that the Cabby is not much longer than a normal electric bike. This should make cycling feel very natural. In total, the rear rack can carry 80 pounds and the total payload is set at 200 pounds.
The electric bike has a Bosch Performance Line CX mid-motor. This powerful motor has a torque of 85 Nm. In terms of battery, you have a choice of three different sizes.
Different battery sizes.
You can choose 400, 545 and even 800 watt-hours. The smallest battery has a range of 90 kilometers on eco mode, while you can go 180 kilometers with the largest. If you choose a more powerful mode, the range goes down.
You control the support easily via the color display. You can connect your smartphone via Bluetooth. With the special Gazelle app, you can also track your electric bike if it is stolen.
That leaves one big question: the price. You can get this electric bike starting at 5,699 euros. For a larger battery, you will obviously pay more. The e-bike should be available soon.
