Google’s biggest event of the year takes place on these dates

Once again, Google is hosting its biggest, annual event in May. We know that event as I/O, which is entirely dedicated to developers. Developers get to know new ideas and technologies, which they can incorporate into their products. And that is useful information for consumers.

Of course, it is true that such a conference for developers often produces a lot of technical drivel. But that does not mean it is uninteresting. If you translate it into popular products, then you know what you can expect as a consumer. Especially as a consumer of Google products.

Google I/O takes place in May

This year’s conference, called Google I/O, will take place – entirely online – on May 11 and 12. A number of conferences can be followed online, including that of the company’s product presentation. Usually the search giant announces some gadgets, as happened before with, for example, the Nest Hub.

As you can see in the tweet above, the event was announced by Google CEO Sundar Pichai. The broadcasts that will be aired during the two-day event are free for everyone to attend. As a developer, you can sign up for some of the presentations for free; you will still need to register.

No tickets this time

You don’t have to worry about tickets this year. Because there are none. So anyone with an interest can sign up, making the event more accessible than ever. This is the second time that Google is organizing the event online. Last year it happened for the first time, because of the corona pandemic.

Back in 2020, the search giant cancelled the event. At that time, Google thought it was unacceptable to organize something as festive as I/O, while people were sick and dying from a virus that was wreaking havoc. What I/O in 2022 will bring is not yet entirely clear. In any case, Android 13 will get quite a stage.
