How you still delete that embarrassing WhatsApp message after two days

How you still delete that embarrassing WhatsApp message after two.webp

As of now, it is possible to delete messages on WhatsApp, more than two days after they were sent. What’s the use of that and, more importantly, how exactly do you do it? WANT editor Mark explains it to you!

Look, sending your ex a message on WhatsApp drunk is not practical and yet it does happen sometimes. There are just times when you think a little less carefully and act out of emotion. Not ideal, but as long as it can be solved it’s not a huge problem. In that respect, this new functionality within the app comes as a godsend.

Delete embarrassing WhatsApp messages

It has been possible for some time now to delete embarrassing messages that you have sent via WhatsApp. Fortunately, because sometimes things just go wrong. Until now it was possible to delete these messages, even for the receiving party. You had, with a time limit of one hour, only to act quickly. A little too quickly, perhaps.

Whether this is exactly the reason WhatsApp is extending the functionality we don’t know, but as a user it’s pretty darn convenient. The company behind the application is rolling out an update that extends the time limit. So where before you only had an hour to delete messages, now you get the chance to recall a message after 60 hours. Two and a half days after sending, that is.

Twitter won’t load because you didn’t give permission.

Rethinking your message? Now you’ll have a little over 2 days to delete your messages from your chats after you hit send.

To delete a message on WhatsApp do the following:

Within WhatsApp, go to the relevant conversation.
Select the message you want to delete by long-pressing it.
Choose the Delete option.
Press the trash can in the lower left corner.
Select Delete for all.

Voila! The message, even after two days, has become history!

How do I install a WhatsApp update?

Those who have ‘Automatic Updates’ set up on their iPhone or Android smartphone don’t need to do anything for an update. Is that not the case? Then go to the App Store or Google Play Store, search for WhatsApp and select ‘Update’.

Beware: it doesn’t always work yet

The advent of the functionality is ideal, but it does not yet work for everyone. So as a user, keep that in mind. Not only you, but also the receiving party must have the most recent version of WhatsApp. If this is not the case, you will continue to face a one-hour limit.

It is also worth noting that a 60-hour time limit does not solve all problems. Chances are that your ex, mother, boss or whoever has already read a message within this time is high. If it is really bad, then of course a screenshot can be taken.
