LinkedIn uses AI to help you find your dream job

Are you a little done with your current job and dreaming of a new one? LinkedIn is going to give you a hand through AI.

We already use ChatGPT and Google Gemini on our smartphones for AI. But what if we also used AI to find our dream job? LinkedIn wants to lend a hand with that.

LinkedIn has plans to bring AI to its app and website. It should act as a kind of career coach to help you find that one top job.

Ai in LinkedIn

You can already use AI to help you in your job search. For example, you can ask ChatGPT to create examples of a cover letter that you can draw inspiration from. It can also beautifully transform your previous data into a resume. But LinkedIn now wants to add to that.

LinkedIn wants to give you career advice through AI. It needs to merge human and artificial intelligence into an ideal career coach. To do this, it is collaborating with various experts on the platform in career development, business strategy and wellness.

New features

Each AI will be based on a particular coach. Based on the user’s title, career goals and skills, a customized answer will come out. Users can ask questions such as, “How do I negotiate my salary?” and “How do I build a growing mindset?”.

Of course, with AI there is the question of where the information comes from and whether you can just use it. This is clear at LinkedIn by partnering with experts. They will therefore get commission when the AI tool is used. Therefore, it seems to be available mainly to paying users of LinkedIn Premium.

In addition, Premium members will also get help in finding jobs through AI and get help in creating a cover letter. You get a review from AI, so to speak, when you apply for a job.

Ai and social media

That LinkedIn is betting on AI is not very surprising. The social medium is owned by Microsoft. With Copilot and a stake in OpenAI, it has plenty of access to AI.

In addition, other social media are also betting heavily on AI. For example, Facebook parent company Meta is already testing various AI chatbots in Instagram. AI could thus change the use of social media considerably. From connecting with friends on Instagram, to helping you find your dream job with LinkedIn.
