Of course you can make it as crazy as you want, but soon you will probably need a fatter wallet for that. The company is going to raise the prices of its products significantly.
Philips Hue raises recommended retail prices
This is according to information from the reliable Hueblog. The medium reports that starting in May, the recommended retail price of more than 250 Phips Hue products will be increased. This increase will affect all indoor lights and accessories. Outdoor lights appear to be out of harm’s way as their prices were already raised in January.
According to the site, prices are going up by up to 16.67 percent. One of the products that is going up the most percentage-wise is the Philips Hue Smart Plug. For the smart plug you pay 29.99 euros now, but this will become 34.99 euros. In terms of euros it may not be too bad, but it is still a significant percentage increase.
With more expensive products you will notice the difference in price much more. The blog itself mentions the Philips Hue Ensis as an example. The huge pendant lamp now costs 399.99 euros in the company’s webshop. The recommended retail price in May will be 439.99 euros. So that means you suddenly have to pay 40 euros more for the same lamp.

Of course, these are recommended prices. Stores can choose whether or not to go with Philips Hue’s recommendations. Still, it might be wiser to buy the products you have on your wish list now, because there is thus a possibility that they will quickly become more expensive.
