The floating design creates a sense of space and fills the room with shades of warm- to cool-white light. So that gives you even more options.

These are the prices:

600 x 600 mm: 239.99 euros
1200 x 300 mm: 239.99 euros
300 x 300 mm: 169.99 Euros

#3 Philips Hue Surimu ceiling light

The Philips Hue Surimu ceiling light is now also available in a round shape. It has a diameter of 395 mm for the round shape. The new square shape is 300 x 300 mm, making it half the size of the existing Surimu.

The ceiling light is recessed into the ceiling and spreads a soft glow of colorful or white light. So this model is just a little more subtle than the Aurelle.

These are the prices:

Ø 300 x 300 mm: EUR 229.99
Ø 395 mm: 239.99 euros

New features in the Philips Hue app

But as mentioned, it’s not just new bulbs for Philips Hue. The company is also adding two innovations in the app that let you control all your lights.

Brightness balancer

The new brightness balancer lets you adjust the brightness of individual lights in an entertainment zone instead of controlling the lights as a group. This gives you more control over your lights while watching a movie or playing a game.

With the new feature, you decide which part of the room to spotlight when you sync the lights with TV, movie, game or music. In addition, the feature allows lamps with different lumen values to be dimmed equally.

Expanded functions for motion sensors

The number of time slots for motion sensors to activate desired lighting has been expanded from two to ten. Whatever type of light you choose, these additional time slots allow you to set your lighting during any time of day based on your own routine.

Moreover, it is also possible to have a the scene with natural light be selected as part of one of these time slots. This way you mimic the sun during the day exactly what is good for your rhythm.

This feature will be available via an update to the Philips Hue Bridge and will work on any sensor you already own. Sometime in the third quarter, the feature will be launched.
