Signify has presented a number of new Philips Hue products as well as new features coming to the app.
Gaming and watching movies is something you prefer to do on a big screen. But how cool is it when your lights color along with the content on your screen? That experience can be made even fatter by Philips Hue. Especially if you have an 8K television.
Signify, the company behind Philips Hue, today presented the Philips Hue Play HDMI sync box 8K. This allows you to sync your lights with your 8K television and with well-known game consoles like Playstation 5 and Xbox One. So you will soon be even more dragged into your game.
Philips Hue offers the solution for your home theater
Imagine you will soon be watching Deadpool & Wolverine on your own television and your entire house colors along during the fight scene on Bye Bye Bye by *NSYNC. Should you have an 8K television, the colors will go along in real time at a refresh rate to 60 hertz. Your Xbox One and Playstation 5 can handle 4K at 120 hertz.
The 8K sync box lets you pair up to ten Phillips Hue bulbs to match the content on your television. However, the bulbs must have a color function for the best and most accurate effect. The sync box does not work on apps that are on your television because they open directly from your television and do not come through an HDMI input. The 8K Sync box has four HDMI ports and will cost 349.99 euros.

Number of new features for the Hue app
Sometimes it can be quite difficult to decide which lamp is the best fit for your home. Philips Hue is going to help you do just that. Namely, the app is getting an AR feature that will allow you to see at scale whether a specific Hue bulb fits your home.
If you then select a particular bulb, you can see what the color of the bulb does in your living room. The feature should launch by the end of 2024. The AR feature is supported by iOS Pro models.
In addition to the AR feature, it will soon be possible for your Philips Hue Secure cameras to work together with Google Home and Amazon’s Alexa apps. So you will soon be able to link live streams and voice control from both systems to Philips Hue.
Philips Hue Secure users will also soon be able to more easily set up routines to turn their security system on and off. In short: you can have fun with Philips Hue in the near future.
