If you want to buy headphones this year, wait a little longer. Sony will soon release the WH-1000XM6.
One of the best headphones right now is the Sony WH-1000XM5, and even though it dates back to 2022. Therefore, it is not strange to say that its successor is the best headphones of 2025. Especially since other major brands seem to be skipping this year with a new flagship model.
And that Sony WH-1000XM6 actually seems to be coming soon. In a few months you can have it in your house already. Doesn’t that sound like music to your ears?

The Sony WH-1000XM6 has recently received a number of official approvals and certifications. For example, it popped up on the FCC list last month. This ensures that a product meets compatibility and safety standards. Without that certification, products may not be sold in the United States.
FCC certification is not the only thing. For example, headphones with model number YY2954 also surfaced on the website of a similar authority, but in Singapore. That number was previously associated with the Sony WH-1000XM6.

Those approvals take place just before launch. After all, the final product must meet all standards. We can clearly expect the headphones this year. With all this testing, it looks like it won’t take too long anymore. It could be as soon as May. Since the agreement between Sony and the FCC ends in July 2025 for this product, it can’t come out later than that month anyway.
