Spotify kicks Apple Watch app to the next level: here’s what’s new

Spotify is nicely announcing some news via its own blog. Among other things, that the Apple Watch app has received a major update from the company. These include an improved listening experience, tweaks to album artwork and much more. This is what you want to know about the brand-new update.

You may have already seen the update pass by, but don’t worry if you haven’t. In fact, Spotify reports that it should arrive on your Apple Watch any day now. If it doesn’t, you can always manually check the App Store page to see if anything is already available. But so the update is on its way.

Spotify app on Apple Watch gets update

Spotify promises that the update should make browsing through available content a lot easier on the Apple Watch’s screen from now on. This will make it easier to find what you’re looking for in your personal library. It will also allow you to access available content offline faster.

Furthermore, the streaming service is happy to point out the change regarding the artwork. Indeed, from now on you will encounter larger images and new animations. The Apple Watch app is getting a further makeover thanks to the addition of “more functionality.” But what exactly does that mean?

Even more functionality!

Well, for example, you can swipe on a song to like it. Also, users should be able to see more quickly that a new episode of their favorite podcast is available. You will see this by a blue dot on the screen. In short: the app has had a major overhaul and the work is worth it.

Earlier, Spotify was still asking users not to update their Apple Watch to watchOS 9. If they did, they would no longer be able to stream music. Those issues were fortunately addressed quickly, so everyone could install the new watchOS update with peace of mind.
