The fictional dating app that Ted Lasso fans can now use for real

As a fan of the Apple TV+ series Ted Lasso, you may be familiar with the app Bantr. This is an app for online dating, where people cannot see what the other person looks like. Tinder, but completely inverted. Now you can try Bantr for yourself in the real world, through another popular dating app.

In fact, Bantr has become a part of the dating app called Bumble. Within this app, women can initiate the conversation, which probably saves them a lot of hey’s on a daily basis. And so now you can also start a conversation with each other without knowing what someone looks like.

Dating like Ted Lasso characters

The part within Bumble works just a little differently than in the show. Namely, you can only date as Ted Lasso characters on Thursday nights from 7:00 p.m. onwards. In addition, the option is available temporarily. You’ll find it within the famous app until the end of 2022.

Bumble arranges matches based on location and age. You have three minutes to get to know each other a little. Is the time up? Then you get asked if you want to be matched with the person on the other end. If you don’t want that, no problem – you’ll be presented with another option.

Still seeing each other’s picture

If you both decide to continue the conversation, at the end you get to see each other’s full profile and photo. Bumble says this may help you find a connection with someone you wouldn’t initially expect. After all, we all date with preconceptions….

By the way, this is not the only partnership the Ted Lasso franchise is currently entering into. In fact, you’ll also find the team from the popular series in the most recent FIFA game. Oh and should you subscribe to Bumble, you’ll get two months of Apple TV+ with it.
