The headphones that let you listen to your favorite music for 60 hours

The new Sennheiser Momentum 4 Wireless is going to shake up the market quite a bit. At least, that is the impression Mark Hofman gets after seeing the introduction. Something that has mainly to do with the impressive sound quality of the headphones.

I got to test a lot of headphones in my time at WANT. The big favorites? The Apple AirPods Max (way too expensive) and the Sony WH-1000XM5! Yet the market is facing a relentless competitor who knows how to change the whole game. Listening to your favorite music for sixty hours? I’ll sign up for it.

Headphones with 60 hours of battery life

The bar must be raised, the boundaries pushed. The new Sennheiser Momentum 4 Wireless is a headphone that does everything just a little bit differently than the rest. Especially when it comes to battery life, because in that respect this new product is an absolute must-have.

Where with the Sony-WH1000XM5 you can easily do 40 hours with a full battery, the headphones from Sennheiser manage to impress even more. When fully charged, it is possible to enjoy your favorite music for 60 hours. SIXTY!

By the way, anyone who thinks that charging the headphones is going to take a beard is wrong. Sennheiser’s press release makes it clear that the Momentum 4 Wireless recharges pretty quickly. Ten minutes on the charger can be enough to enjoy an additional six hours. Ideal, if you ask me.

The Sennheiser Momentum 4 Wireless

How good the headphones are in practice is something I hope to find out soon. The request for a copy is with the friends at Sennheiser, so hopefully we will soon be able to compare the two favorites of the moment. Until then we have to make do with the specifications and they are, as far as I’m concerned, certainly not bad either.

The new 42mm transducer offers more dynamics and clarity, the improved noise reduction more enjoyment and the Transparency Mode more convenience. With the push of a button, you can instantly hear what’s going on around you and, without taking the headphones off, just talk along again. Have we seen this before, but it’s a feature that makes life a little easier.

What also stands out is the focus on design. According to Sennheiser, the Momentum 4 Wireless offers such comfort that the headphones are effortless to wear. Something the WH-1000XM5 could learn from in some areas.

Of course, there are still a lot of things that go along with the headphones. Want to see everything clearly laid out? Then be sure to check out the Sennheiser website here.

How expensive are the headphones?

Now to the painful part: what’s the damage? Despite the fact that it certainly may cost some money, the recommended retail price of the headphones is not too bad for me. The first thought was that this would be a challenger to the Sony WH-1000XM5 and in terms of price, that seems to be quickly becoming apparent. With a recommended retail price of €349.90, I can imagine that the Japanese competitor is slowly starting to sweat.

As of August 23, 2022, consumers can expect the headphones. It is already available to order.
