There are an awful lot of apps available on the various Apple devices. Whether it is an iPhone or Mac, they are all optimized for the respective device. But because there are so many, it can be hard to pick a winner.
That’s why Apple chose not one winner, but 17, differentiating between regular apps and games and looking at each platform separately. A Mac user has different needs than someone on their iPhone. There are also six special winners that have a cultural impact.
These are the best apps for iPhone, iPad, Mac and more
Let’s start with the mainstream apps. The best iPhone app of 2024 is Kino. This program makes it simple to create professional images on your smartphone. This is mainly due to filters inspired by movies and its advanced controls.
The winner on the iPad is also one for true creatives. Apple has chosen Moises, an app that allows musicians to make their music via the iPad even better with a variety of tools.

Then again, on the Mac, photos take center stage. The winner in that category is Adobe’s Lightroom, the app that makes editing photos very easy and professional. Finally, Apple named six winners that have a cultural impact. These apps are separate from the different platforms, but are highlighted because they bring different people together.

In this category, you can really think of anything. For example, EF Hello wins because it innovatively helps people learn English faster, thus helping connect people around the world. The app NYT Games wins precisely because it helps friends and family of all ages puzzle with each other.
