Do you enjoy watching Formula 1 on television on your TV? If so, an option is coming this year, although it is not available to everyone.
Formula 1 has been on Viaplay for years. For many it is an eyesore, as they prefer to see the races back on Ziggo. One advantage of that was that you could see races live on television, but that option is now coming back.
Viaplay is partnering with several cable companies to bring Formula 1 back to television. But if you think you can watch for free, you’ll be disappointed.
Viaplay on Odido, but not on Ziggo
Starting March 14, the Formula 1 season will burst into life. It promises to be exciting, as can Max Verstappen capture his fifth world title? To follow that in the Netherlands, you are condemned to Viaplay or F1 TV Pro.
The live Formula 1 races can normally only be seen on your television via the Viaplay app on your smart TV, or if you stream from your smartphone to your television. Sometimes you don’t want to or can’t, and until recently there was no solution, but that is now changing.

Viaplay is bringing a special channel to subscribers of Odido and Delta. This channel is called Viaplay+ and will broadcast live sports from the streaming service’s offerings. These include Formula 1, the Premier League and PDC Darts.
Unfortunately not free
If you think you can now watch Formula 1 and Premier League soccer for free if you have a subscription with Odido or Delta, you’re wrong. This channel comes in a special package for which you have to pay extra. This will cost you 16.99 euros per month.
That’s not cheap, but it’s cheaper than subscribing to Viaplay, because that costs 19.99 euros a month. So you save 3 euros per month. You’ll probably get to see ads unfortunately, though.
KPN and Ziggo customers are out of luck. For now, there are no plans to bring the channel and thus the cheaper subscription to those cable companies.
