WhatsApp already bringing indispensable feature to group chats

In addition to sending friends and family direct messages through WhatsApp, group chats are also incredibly popular. an indispensable feature for that is now being worked on.

Group conversations on WhatsApp are both a curse and a blessing. You can’t always be all together, and then a group chat is ideal for talking about all kinds of topics. Whether it’s about soccer or the latest developments in Who Is the Mole?

Yet group chats can also be incredibly irritating. If you don’t open WhatsApp for a moment, there can be hundreds of missed messages. It’s logical to lose the total overview. Fortunately, WhatsApp now seems to have a solution for that.

WhatsApp brings threads to group conversations

No, we are not talking about Instagram Threads, but regular threads. These are supposed to bring order to the chaos of group chats. Instead of having to scroll through entire chats to see answers to questions or comments, WhatsApp is creating a feature that will link back to the question with those answers.

This information comes from WABetaInfo, and that medium also shows a screenshot of exactly what it will look like. Once such a thread is started, you can press reply. Then you see a pop-up screen in the app that shows all the previous posts regarding the same topic. However, the original post doesn’t seem to be shown yet. So there is still some work to be done to make it all a little clearer.

Unfortunately, the feature is currently only in beta on Android, but it seems WhatsApp plans to bring it to the regular version very soon. The feature is in beta first so the company can test it properly and take out any bugs. If it is eventually found to be good enough, then it can be brought to the final version on iPhone or Android.

When is the feature coming?

So it is still unclear when we can actually expect the new feature in WhatsApp. In addition, it is also possible that the feature will still be tweaked slightly.

It’s certainly not the only feature WhatsApp wants to add to the app. For example, it also seems to have turned its attention to video calling. The app is not going to show you immediately when you get a video call. Instead, you will be given the choice to turn the camera on or off.

You will also soon be able to stick your thumb up in a video call, after which the emoji will appear on screen. This feature WhatsApp copied well from iMessage. You can read more about it in the post below.
