Group conversations on WhatsApp can be really nice, but sometimes also incredibly irritating. Especially if someone leaves the microphone on and then goes to eat. The whole group can enjoy the bag of chips and that’s something you don’t want. Or what to think of someone who has music playing in the background. Fortunately, from now on you can do something about that. Each person in the conversation can now keep the other quiet, which is of course a very nice addition.

If a person is kept quiet, an icon will appear next to their name. That way everyone, including the person themselves, sees that their microphone is turned off.
More new features
By the way, this is not the only novelty added to group conversations. From now on it will also be possible to send someone in the conversation a message directly. Previously you had to open the call list and search for the exact name. So you save a lot of time and hassle.
As mentioned, the changes can be used on WhatsApp from now on. You will need to download the latest version of the app. You can find it in Google Play or the App Store. If you do not do this, it will be automatically installed on your phone in the coming days/weeks.
