WhatsApp is finally going to make sure you can take your voice messages anywhere. With the transcription feature, they will soon be readable.
Where you used to call to hear someone’s voice, these days that’s more the exception than the rule. It is often just as easy to send a voice message on WhatsApp. Not everyone is always happy with that, but that’s another story.
For those people who don’t get happy with voice memos, WhatsApp is rolling out the ideal feature in the coming weeks. Namely, it will be possible to read your voice messages with the new transcribe feature. WhatsApp itself calls it a way to keep track of your conversations wherever you are.
WhatsApp takes your privacy seriously
You don’t have to worry that WhatsApp will soon find out everything about you or that the chat service is reading along with what is being sent. This is because transcripts of voice messages are generated on your phone itself and not through WhatsApp’s servers.
The feature is not on by default you will have to turn it on. To do this go to settings and chats. And the rest is self-explanatory. The feature will be rolled out worldwide in the coming weeks and will be available in multiple languages.

WhatsApp is becoming more and more fun to use
In recent months, WhatsApp has been rolling out more and more features that make the app easier but, more importantly, more fun to use. For example, a feature recently came out that lets you send short video messages to each other instead of voice messages.
Not every new feature of WhatsApp is to your liking. For example, the text “Typing” was recently modified by three bullet points. On X, not all WhatsApp users are positive about this update. Most heard criticism is that the feature is too similar to Apple’s iMessage.
Some new features are mostly practical, but of some you are amazed that they are only now being added. For example, WhatsApp also recently released its concept feature. A feature that has been available on the web version of WhatsApp for years.
All in all, a lot is changing in WhatsApp lately. And the developers are not done with innovations yet. For now, we can only wait and see what else will be released.
