WiZ introduces the feature Philips Hue should have with Music Sync

WiZ’s smart lights are getting a Music Sync feature. This allows you to make your lights move to the rhythm of music. A feature that Iontprevents with Philips Hue lamps.

Signify, the company behind Philips Hue and WiZ smart bulbs, is coming out with Music Sync. This makes the brightness and colors of WiZ’s smart bulbs dance along to the beat of music.

In addition to the new feature for the existing lamps, WiZ is also introducing several new products. LED strips, a light garland for indoors or outdoors, a smart camera, rotary switch and GU10 bulbs: they’re all here.

WiZ stunts with introduction Music Sync

A house full of WiZ lamps means a personal club in your home from now on. Music Sync is a new feature that lets the lamps move to the rhythm of music. This makes your iPhone, iPad, Android phone or tablet even more the epicenter of your smart lighting.

For the feature, WiZ uses your devices’ microphone to establish the rhythm of the music. The lights will then flash, light up and change color. As with the default settings for the emanations, in this case it is also possible to choose from preset color palettes. Music Sync’s offering consists of nine different options.

There is no limit to the amount of WiZ lights you can connect. The only requirement is that they must all be connected to the same WiFi network.

Philips Hue continues to lag behind

With functionality, Signify gives its cheaper brand a nice edge. Philips Hue bulbs are a lot pricier, but don’t have the functionality. Although that is not to say that something similar is not possible.

Philips Hue has a separate media box called the Play. This connects to your television with an HDMI cable and makes your lighting respond to the content that is then played on it. So you don’t have the freedom of your smartphone, but you could turn on Spotify or Apple Music to get the same result.

Whereas people with WiZ lights get Music Sync for free, you have to pay quite a bit for the Play. The media box for Philips Hue has a suggested retail price of 269.99 euros.

WiZ’s new lamps

In addition to Music Sync, Signify is also introducing a number of new products. For example, there is a new outdoor camera that is part of WiZ Home Monitoring. This combines smart lighting with the camera and motion detection to secure your home. This model will cost you 129.99 euros.

New LED strips ranging in lengths from four to 30 meters have also been announced. They are not only controllable via the WiZ app or your voice, but also work with smart accessories. In this case, these include the brand’s Smart Button and Smart Rotary Switch.

The smart LED strip with RGB light comes in two variants. The 15-meter-long model will cost you 39.99 euros and the 30-meter-long model 49.99 euros. If you go for the model with RGBIC lights patch you 29.99 euros for five meters, 47.99 euros for 10 meters and 72.99 euros for 20 meters.

To finish, Signify also comes with the WiZ Smart Light Garland (99.99 euros for twenty meters), WiZ Smart Rotary Switch (27.99 euros) and new GU10 bulbs. The model with Full Color Glass costs 15.99 euros (1pc) or 29.99 euros (2pc). The variant with Tunable White Glass will cost you 12.99 euros (1pc) or 24.99 euros (2pc).
