Paramount Game Studios is working on a video game based on the popular horror film Paranormal Activity, called Found Footage.
Together with DreadXP and DarkStone Digital, Paramount Game Studios is working on a new horror game. The video game is inspired by the well-known horror film Paranormal Activity.
After the original 2007 film, six more films have been made. Paranormal Activity: Found Footage is based on the story from the seven-part series. The upcoming game will be the first Paranormal Activity game that is not a VR game and will most likely be released in 2026 on multiple platforms.
Paranormal Activity
Paranormal Activity is a 2007 American supernatural horror film. We see a young couple, Katie Featherston and Micah Sloat, who are rather troubled by paranormal creatures. For example, they bother the couple while they sleep, such as by pulling a leg.
The couple decides to put cameras in their house to study what’s going on. This is also how we see much of the film: from the perspective of the surveillance cameras. This gives the whole thing an original but creepy feel.
Found Footage
As the name of the game, Paranormal Activity: Found Footage, may give away, the movie uses the footage from surveillance cameras. So the game is going to give off the same creepy feeling as the movie.
Found Footage is going to further utilize something called a “haunt system. This will cause the types of scares and their intensity to change based on players’ actions. So it may be different for everyone.
Other games such as Don’t Scream have also already used this “haunt system,” which was a huge success among players, and thus terrifying. How Paranormal Activity: Found Footage will make use of the feature is something to eagerly await (if you like horror).
Real horror
The film gives a real horror experience. There is no big focus on jumpscares, but more on using the unexplainable. For example, there are constantly strange noises or things happening that give you goosebumps.

Paranormal Activity will make you sit on the edge of your seat the whole time, or just in the corner of your couch, hiding under the covers. The movie is, even now, highly recommended if you love horror movies. Now it is only hoped that the game can recreate this feeling.
