iPhone 15 gets special camera that takes even better pictures

The iPhone 15 promises to be a great phone for photographers, according to rumors. It will be one of the first smartphones to get a hybrid camera.

Taking photos with a smartphone is something we all do, of course. In recent years, the technology behind it has improved tremendously. Apple is now coming out with a new feature that lets you take photos in a completely new way with the iPhone 15.

A good camera update for the iPhone 15

The news comes from Twitter user RGLoudS. He is best known as a reliable source on Android leaks, but his track record regarding Apple is unknown. So it remains to be seen exactly how reliable his news is.

According to the tweeter, the iPhone 15 will have a hybrid camera. That means the camera’s lens will consist of one glass element and six made of plastic. Xiaomi already uses this technique, but so far only in China. So the iPhone will be the first global smartphone to use this technique, should this be true.

Currently, all elements of almost all smartphones are made of plastic. So the fact that an element made of glass will be used ensures better quality.

The iPhone 15 will also get a better aperture than the 14 Pro. With an aperture of ƒ/1.7, the primary lens will absorb up to 20 percent more light, which should lead to even better photos, especially in the dark.

Better sensor for all new models

In addition, all iPhone 15 models would get the 48MP sensor from the iPhone 14 Pro’s main camera. The iPhone 14 and 14 Plus had a ƒ/1.5 aperture, which is less than the previous year. This is likely to be offset by the software.

Earlier there were rumors that a hybrid camera with two glass and six plastic elements would come to the iPhone 15 Pro Max. However, Ming-Chi Kuo said Apple had scrapped these plans. It is possible that these will still come to the iPhone 16 Pro Max later.
