Google warns: here’s how to avoid poor battery life on your Android device

Do you feel like your Android smartphone’s battery drains quickly? If so, according to Google, you may be doing something wrong.

Battery life depends on many factors, including the physical size of the battery, the requirements of your device and the ambient temperature. One of the biggest influences, however, is how you use your Android smartphone. Google is even aware of this.

In fact, the well-known search engine has sent out a special memo to users about this. In this memo, Google gives advice on how best to treat your device. That way you won’t have to reach for the charger as often.

According to Google, these four things are disastrous for your battery life

Google’s advice came down to four key points. We briefly go over each of them with you.

#1 Use multiple apps at once

You probably already know that an Android smartphone consumes more energy when an app is open. So it’s not surprising that your battery drains faster when multiple apps are active.

This is especially noticeable with apps that demand a lot from your phone, such as games, streaming services or navigation apps. Therefore, Google recommends that you close unused apps or limit their background activity to increase battery life.

#2 Your Android smartphone’s brightness is too high

In bright light, or just when it is pitch black, we are quick to turn the screen very high. It might be nice to be able to see everything clearly, but it’s disastrous for your Android smartphone’s battery. In addition to shorter battery life, too high a brightness can also be tiring for your eyes, especially in dark places.

Google recommends that you automatically adjust the brightness according to the ambient light. This setting allows your device to save power when you’re indoors or when it’s darker.

#3 Your smartphone is too hot

Third, it is important to make sure that your device is not overheating. This is really important because overheating can cause all kinds of problems for the performance and life of your device.

If your smartphone gets too hot, components can start to work slower, which means apps take longer to load. In addition, overheating can drain your battery faster and even cause permanent damage to the inside of your device.

To prevent overheating, Google says you can take a number of measures. For example, make sure you use your Android smartphone in a cool, well-ventilated environment. Avoid prolonged exposure to direct sunlight and limit heavy tasks on your device. This will allow your device to cool better and keep it performing optimally.

#4 Using an adapter that is not Google’s

Finally, Google recommends using as few adapters from other brands as possible. It’s not necessarily super dangerous, but can cause problems with your battery.

A non-original adapter can sometimes not have the same quality and safety standards as the original adapter. This can cause fluctuations in the power supply, which can not only cause overheating, but also damage the battery and internal components of your device.

We understand that it may be tempting to use a cheaper adapter. However, it is usually safer and better for the health of your device to use the original adapter.
