In a few weeks, the iPhone 15 will be officially unveiled. Other Apple products are often introduced during this presentation. This year, however, we do not have to expect any new AirPods.
During the 2022 iPhone 14 presentation, we also saw the AirPods Pro 2 sneak by. This was a welcome surprise, as the Pros were due for a new version. Now the Max version in particular seems to be in need of renewal, but we won’t see a new version this year during the iPhone 15 launch.
No AirPods during iPhone 15 event
We all already know roughly what to expect during Apple’s iPhone presentation in September. In addition to the iPhone 15 range, we will most likely see the Apple Watch Series 9 and the Ultra 2. In terms of audio, however, things seem to remain quiet.
According to renowned Apple analyst Ming-Chi Kuo, Apple does have plans in the field of audio, but these new gadgets will not appear yet in 2023. Production of the first devices won’t begin until the second half of 2024, which means they won’t actually be launched until 2025.
In addition, it is not often that AirPods are announced during the launch of the iPhone 15, which was only the case with the original AirPods and the Pro 2.
This is on the cards at Apple
According to the analyst, in addition to a new AirPods Max, we can also expect a cheaper version of the AirPods. Furthermore, we can look forward to an updated version of the HomePod mini 2. Especially the cheaper version of the AirPods raises many questions. In addition to the regular third version, Apple also sells the second version that is a few tens cheaper. So with an even cheaper version, Apple really needs to come up with something special.

It won’t be until Sept. 12 that we will likely get real certainty. According to Bloomberg journalist Mark Gurman, the iPhone 15 event will take place on that date.
