The Nintendo Switch 2 is still a while away. Fortunately, there are still some fat games coming out this year for the current Switch.
Day by day we are getting closer to the release of the Nintendo Switch 2. We are getting more and more updates and news about this console. Of course, we are all eagerly waiting to try the successor to the wildly popular Nintendo Switch.
Unfortunately, the thing is still a while away. At least until next year. So we still have some Nintendo Switch 2-less months ahead of us. Don’t be sad and please give the current Nintendo Switch some more attention. Especially with these fat games still coming out.

We’ve already been treated to quite a few top games on the Nintendo Switch this year. And the year is far from over. So let that Nintendo Switch 2 wait, we still have our hands full with these games.
Super Monkey Ball Banana Rumble for Nintendo Switch | June 25.
Few games are as cute and frustrating at the same time as Super Monkey Ball. This agility game in which you maneuver a ball with a monkey in it over all sorts of courses has been a popular Nintendo series for years. But golly, how tricky it is.
In Super Monkey Ball Banana Rumble, you get the same fun (and frustrating) gameplay you expect from the series, but with so many more new things. From fully customizable monkey balls (yes that sounds weird), to a multiplayer mode where you compete against eighteen other players. Plenty of new content, if you dare.

Luigi’s Mansion 2 HD | June 27
This remaster of Mario’s brother’s heart-stoppingly fun ghost game is coming out this summer. It’s a remaster, so that means the entire game has been redesigned from the ground up. Count on improved functionality such as controls and sound adapted for the Nintendo Switch.
An HD jacket shouldn’t be missing from that. So we get this original 3DS game with better graphics than we’re used to. In Luigi’s Mansion, as the name gives away, you play as Luigi. You hunt ghosts while sneaking through terrifying dilapidated houses and solving puzzles.

Nintendo World Championships: NES Edition for Nintendo Switch | July 18
Who likes a hefty challenge? Then Nintendo World Championships: NES Edition is just right for you. After all, this game is a combination of eighteen old NES games. Think of the first Kirby, The Legend of Zelda, Metroid and, of course, Super Mario Bros.
In these games, you complete all sorts of challenges. From speed running to losing as few lives as possible. The missions are based on actual Nintendo championships from the 1990s. One thing’s for sure: you’ll play these classics in a totally different way than you’re used to.
Fantasy Life: The Girl Who Steals Time | Oct. 10
Fantasy Life is an incredibly expansive RPG. On the 3DS, the game scored rave reviews, but was not really discovered by the general public. A real shame, because the possibilities in the game were endless. You could choose from nearly twenty different professions to practice and go on as many adventures as you wanted.
Now there is finally a chance to play it on the Nintendo Switch. It is the sequel to the 3DS game, but even more comprehensive. Choose professions such as woodcutter, cook or knight and complete corresponding quests. With that, you build your own city. Think of it as Animal Crossing with more action and adventure.

Epic Mickey: Rebrushed | TBA
This year we get another remaster of a beloved game. Epic Mickey: Rebrushed does not have a concrete release date yet, but there is a very good chance that we will still see this game in 2024. This remaster of the Epic Mickey released in 2010 takes you back to the colorful world of Disney.
In it, you play as Mickey Mouse who completes all kinds of levels with a magic brush. On top of the 2010 game, quite a bit of new content has been added. From an improved co-op mode to more levels. Epic Mickey is a fun platformer that has been somewhat forgotten over time. This will be the perfect chance to rediscover the game on the Nintendo Switch.

Hollow Knight: Silksong | TBA
The sequel to the immensely popular Hollow Knight is also likely to be released this year. Hollow Knight is one of the best metroidvania games of recent years. It is a 2D platformer much like Metroid and Castlevania. Perfect for the Nintendo Switch. That means complex levels, secret locations and challenging battles.
Team Cherry, the developers of Hollow Knight, have been working on the sequel for several years. More and more information about the new game is emerging, which means it can’t be long before we get a release date.
