Apple AirPods Pro 2 become even more awesome thanks to these features

That Apple is rolling out great updates for the AirPods Pro 2 is a fact. But these five new features take your pods to an even higher level. OMT editor Dennis Mons lists them for you.

We don’t hide the love we at OMT have for the AirPods Pro Max, but certainly also for the AirPods Pro 2. Apple is releasing new features for the latter this year that are awesome, and you don’t need any new hardware for it.

AirPods Pro 2 appear to be getting even better

In the tech world, there is something of a gold standard when it comes to earbuds. Grab any channel of any major YouTuber or tech website and you’ll see that many new in-ears are compared to Apple’s flagship.

If you thought the AirPods Pro 2 were always the best, you’re right. But Apple will undoubtedly win the battle for “best earbuds” all the way this year with these new features.

Adaptive Audio

Currently, the AirPods Pro 2 have three modes for noise control. Noise reduction effectively mutes the world around you. Transparency lets sounds pass through while your ears are closed off.

And “off” is what in-ear headphones sounded like before the AirPods Pro. Muffled and dull. You’re probably currently in noise cancellation mode or transparency mode. ‘Off’ isn’t really an option, at least, not for us.

Meet Adaptive Audio. You may never need the other two smart modes again. It’s certainly not new; competitors already had this option, but you can bet that Apple is making it a masterpiece.

In case you don’t know what Adaptive Audio is: it mixes ANC with transparency. In fact, the AirPods Pro 2 then switch seamlessly. A little transparency while washing dishes? Fine. Or complete suppression while vacuuming? They take care of that themselves.

Conversations become clear in an instant

Again, this is not an entirely new feature, at least not for earbuds from other brands. But the bottom line is that when you talk to someone, the music drops in volume and then you hear people crisply clear.

At least the option, called Conversation Awareness, makes you a lot more social. So you can just listen to your tunes but say “hi” on the street for a chat.

Mute finally coming to Apple Airpods Pro 2

Again, not really a particularly new option when it comes to earbuds, but updates to Apple’s AirPods Pro 2 allow you to just mute by squeezing the stem of the earbuds. So you no longer have to reach for your iPhone.

Finally, Apple is going to use “machine learning” to give you personalized volume. It’s a new feature that monitors your ambient noise. It also tracks what your preferences are when it comes to listening to music or watching a video.

Expect other small tweaks as well, such as fast switching between two Apple devices. That was already possible, but the Cupertino-based company promises to make that even faster and more stable.

You’ll have to wait a little longer for Apple’s updates, as they are scheduled for this fall. But you certainly won’t have to go shopping for new earbuds then.
