The bird seems to have flown at Twitter, at least if it is up to Elon Musk. The platform is getting a new look with a logo to match, according to the company’s big boss. But is that really an improvement?
Twitter turns into X by Elon Musk
Twitter is getting a new temporary logo, according to Elon Musk. Instead of the blue bird, it will be a black X. So Elon Musk was tweeting about it for hours, or should we call it X’s now?
By the way, the X is not an entirely new symbol for Elon Musk. The Twitter boss also frequently uses it for his other services. For example, X.com was the original name for his payment service PayPal, and we also see the X at SpaceX. The name of Tesla’s first SUV, the Model X, also contains that letter.
So far, Twitter itself does not seem to have changed at this point. If you log in, you will still see the blue bird and the house style also seems to be the same.
What is different, however, is the account of the company itself. If you now go to @Twitter, you will see the name X. Moreover, the new logo can be seen there. That logo, by the way, is also the image accompanying Elon Musk’s account.

What does it mean?
Linda Yaccarino is the CEO of X.Corp of which Twitter is a part. She tells the following in a tweet about the transformation.
“It’s exceptionally rare to get a second chance to make a huge impression. Twitter made a huge impression and changed the way we communicate. Now X continues as it transforms into a global village square.”
Twitter, she says, must become a part of unlimited interactivity. That centers in audio, video, messaging and banking. “It creates a global marketplace for ideas, goods, services and opportunities powered by AI.”
Bigger changes
Recently, Elon Musk also initiated other major changes to the medium. For example, he wants more people to start paying for the medium. In exchange for a subscription, users will get a blue checkmark and will be allowed to post longer tweets in the future. People who don’t pay will only get to see a limited number of DMs and tweets.

Elon Musk is doing everything he can to make money from the medium, as ad revenue has dropped sharply after the acquisition. Moreover, with Instagram Threads, it has added a formidable competitor.
