Sony and Apple are joining forces. The two parties are giving people with a PlayStation 5 or PlayStation 4 free access to the Apple TV+ streaming service. Even if they have already taken advantage of one before.
So you could argue that this is the perfect time to try out one of the highest quality streaming services today. Apple TV+’s content receives incredibly good ratings and has now even garnered 54 Emmy nominations. Watching really good content has never been more accessible.
Apple TV+ months free thanks to PlayStation 5
PlayStation’s website shows that both the PlayStation 5 and PlayStation 4 are good for free access to Apple TV+. If you have the first console, you get six months of free access; if you have the second console, you get three months of free access. The reason seems obvious to us: Sony wants to encourage people to buy their most recent console.
Those who want to take advantage of the promotion have until July 31, 2023 to claim their free access. To do so, you will need not only a PSN account, but also an Apple ID. That’s the account linked to your iPhone by default. If you don’t have this yet, you can create this account here.
While the promotion is not particularly unique, there is one condition that we like. In fact, Sony and Apple let us know that you can take advantage of the free trial even if you have done so before.
So if you’ve used Apple TV+ on your PlayStation 5 before through a trial subscription, you won’t be excluded this time. That is only the case if you are a subscriber through Apple One or if you already have a standard subscription.

54 Emmy nominations for streaming service
No, Apple TV+ is not as big as Netflix or Disney+. This is mainly due to the fact that the streaming service only works with self-produced content. So major (well-known) titles are missing from the offerings, but that doesn’t mean the offerings are disappointing.
Apple TV+’s series and movies already generally get impressive ratings, but now it has also bagged a whopping 54 Emmy nominations. Titles like Ted Lasso, Shrinking, For All Mankind and Prehistoric Planet are the lucky ones.
