5 reasons why Android is simply better than the iPhone

When you buy a new smartphone, you have many choices. However, the first choice is whether to choose iPhone or Android. Apart from the fact that Android obviously offers more choice in terms of devices, there are even more reasons not to choose an iPhone. We list 5 of them.

Let’s face it: buying a new phone-iron is tough. It is therefore not surprising that we have to advise people on what are the advantages and disadvantages of certain devices all the time. At least as far as the iPhone is concerned, we can give plenty of reasons not to buy it.

Android beats the iPhone in many ways

Just apart from the specs of certain devices, there are also a number of considerations to keep in mind for not wanting to own an iPhone. And some of them are pretty obvious.

1. The iPhone is extremely expensive

Apple has done its best to make iPhones cheaper with the SE, for example. But those still cost around 550 euros. For similar specs at other Android phone manufacturers such as HTC or Xiaomi, you pay significantly less.

If you move into the realms of flagships, such as the iPhone 14 Pro Max and Samsung Galaxy S23 Ultra, however, the prices differ less.

2. You get what you get

If there’s one charm of Android phones, it’s that you can go absurdly far with tweaking. Not just the look of the operating system can be customized, but even the entire functioning.

With the iPhone, however, you fish behind the net. Apple has marketed an operating system with iOS that is relatively unmodifiable. This is somewhat justified because the manufacturer does not like to see the phone crash.

However, if you are a person who likes to get creative with decorating and pimping your device, then Android is still the place to be.

3. With an iPhone you’re more stuck than with an Android

Apple’s closed ecosystem means you are largely limited to using Apple’s own apps and services. That in itself is not a big deal, but you will find many more apps and services in Google Play.

iPhone actually works at its best with Apple hardware 4.

Apple is rigid when it comes to connecting peripherals So to get the most out of your iPhone, you are actually “required” to also purchase an Apple Watch, AirPods or HomePod, for example.

5. Where’s the headphone jack!

We know: it’s 2023, but there are still many people who like to use 3.5 millimeter headphones. On the one hand because they may already have headphones with a cord, or on the other hand they want to hear the best quality (wired sound is still superior to Bluetooth.

So with the iPhone, you’re out of luck while there are still lots of Android phones where you can just plug in your headset. And of course: you can buy a dongle with a 3.5 mm adapter, but it costs another ten euros at Apple.

We really don’t want to diss the iPhone, but for many reasons you’re better off choosing an Android phone. There is huge choice in a very wide price range, so you don’t have to pay through the nose for a (relatively) limited phone.
