It’s almost here: on Tuesday, we’ll finally know what the iPhone 15 looks like. That means you should pay close attention to buying or selling older models. WANT editor Jeroen Kraak gives you a hand.
Like any tech lover, I’m looking forward to Tuesday, because I’m curious to see what Apple is putting into the new iPhone 15. It’s also an ideal time to say goodbye to your older iPhone. Still, there are a few things to keep in mind.
The ideal time to sell an iPhone
The arrival of a new iPhone has both advantages and disadvantages. One is that other iPhones become worth less. If you want to get rid of another one, now is the time to sell. That way you can just get a better price, or score another good credit for buying a new model.
On the other hand, it’s better to wait to buy an iPhone now for the same reason. Not only to see what the iPhone 15 has to offer, but also because other models are being reduced in price. By the way, not only at Apple itself, but also at stores that sell Apple products.
Still going for the 14?
For example, perhaps the difference between the regular iPhone 15 and the 14 Pro may not be so great. Then it might be a better option for you to go for the 14 Pro anyway, considering the price.
Also, Apple seems to be keeping the regular iPhone 14 in its lineup. It will then be cheaper at the store, since there should be a difference with the 15. You can then count on a price reduction of about 100 euros.

By the way, you can already trade in your iPhone at Apple without necessarily purchasing the 14. It is possible through Apple to trade in the device for an Apple Gift Card. You can then spend that again on the iPhone 15 as soon as it is released.
As mentioned, you’ll know what the iPhone 15 will look like on Tuesday. You can watch that live. At 7 p.m. you can watch the presentation simply via YouTube and Apple TV.
