Ringtones, very exciting they may not sound, but the fact remains that they play a big role in our daily smartphone use. So the fact that Apple is slinging new sounds to the iPhone for the first time since 2013 is pretty tasty.
It’s not new, but personally it took me a while to figure it out. With the arrival of iOS 17, Apple also introduced new ringtones and notification sounds. I’m very sorry if you don’t understand the hype, but it does give your iPhone that fresh look.
For the past four months, I’ve been using the iPhone 15 Pro daily to introduce you to the best tips, tricks and hidden features. Ringtones? Yes, they can’t be missing as far as I’m concerned.
iPhone 15 Pro: Apple’s new ringtones
If you’ve been paying close attention (I obviously haven’t), you’ll notice a load of new names within Settings -> Hear and Feel -> Ring Tone (or SMS tone). That’s because your iPhone, with the help of iOS 17, has been updated with new ringtones and notification sounds.
This is notable because Apple hasn’t added a single sound to the iPhone since 2013. So in addition to being able to enjoy classics like “Old Phone,” “Marimba” and “Blues,” you now have access to “Departure,” “Whistling Kettle,” and my personal favorite, “Important.”
