You probably can’t see the forest for the trees in terms of streaming services. Now there’s a new one coming from Sony for PlayStation 4 and 5 owners. At least, if they have a membership to PlayStation Plus Premium.
In the Netherlands, we have access to a huge number of streaming services, as long as you pay for them. Netflix, HBO Max and Videoland are just a few examples. Now a new one is coming. And it’s completely free, although it does require a PlayStation Plus Premium subscription, which again does cost money (unfortunately).

PlayStation Plus Premium is pretty much what Game Pass is for Xbox. For a flat monthly fee, you get access to a large catalog full of games. So you don’t have to come up with expensive games anymore. Also, so now you don’t seem to need a subscription to a streaming service.
PlayStation 4 and 5 owners who have Premium will get access to more than a hundred movies from Sony. The company plans to add new movies regularly. It also plans to start showing titles from anime platform Crunchyroll.
Movies you can already watch if you are a subscriber include Looper, as well as several Spider-Man movies. Unfortunately not the latest ones, but you can rent or buy those for an additional fee.
Even more movies via Sony Pictures Core
Those who want to enjoy about 2,000 Sony movies will have to subscribe to Sony Pictures Core. This is a dedicated app on the PlayStation 4 and 5. This service is not yet stand-alone. Included in this service are some great titles such as Bullet Train, Gran Turismo and Jumanji.
The new movies are a fine addition to PlayStation Plus and especially since Sony has raised prices. For a monthly subscription to Premium you will now pay $16.99 and 12 months will have you for $151.99. Here we tell you all about that price increase.
