When it comes to gaming, you really know one thing for sure: release dates are never sacred to publishers. Even if you mention the specific date a year before the release. In that regard, there is bad news for Skyrim fans.
No, we don’t know anything yet about The Elder Scrolls VI, the real sequel to Skyrim. However, the team has been working for a while on Starfield, a game that takes you to space. And there is bad news about that.
Skyrim successor Starfield is delayed
Starfield was supposed to be released on November 11 this year. A date that can also be traced back to Skyrim. Because that game was released on November 11, 2011. So this would then be released eleven years later. At least, that was the intention. Because today the news came out via Twitter that the game is delayed.

Starfield is now scheduled for release sometime in the first half of 2023. It is then expected to be released sometime in late spring. Another game from the publisher, Redfall, is also coming out later. That game is being made by Arkane. That’s the studio you know from the Dishonored games. It has now been given the same release period as Starfield, making the first half of 2023 busy for publisher Bethesda. Whether they will be able to release a new version of Skyrim in between is still to be seen.
More details soon
While it’s a shame that Skyrim successor Starfield and Redfall are now coming out later, there’s also some good news in the news. Namely, soon we can expect the first real gameplay of the games, which will give you a better idea if the game is going to be worth it.
